Opening an account: registration and verification
If you do not yet have a 888 login, creating one takes a few minutes. Tap SIGN UP and enter your details: name, date of birth, address, email and a phone number. You will choose a username and a strong password โ make it long and unique, and not one you reuse on other sites. You must be 18 or over and a resident of an eligible country; entering accurate details now avoids problems at withdrawal later, because the name on your account must match the name on your payment method and your ID.
After registration comes verification, often called "know your customer" or KYC. This is a legal requirement for every UK-licensed operator, designed to confirm your age and identity and to keep the platform free of fraud. You will typically upload a photo ID (passport or driving licence) and a recent proof of address (a utility bill or bank statement). Many accounts verify automatically in seconds; where a manual check is needed, it is usually completed within a day.
- Use your real, full legal name โ it must match your ID and your payment method.
- Verify early โ completing KYC soon after sign-up means no delay when you first withdraw.
- Keep documents current โ a proof of address is usually accepted if dated within the last three months.
- One account only โ a second account per person or household is not permitted and can lead to restrictions.
Once verified, your 888 login is the single key to the whole account. From that point on, signing in is just your email, password and โ if you have enabled it โ a two-factor code or a biometric check. There is no separate registration for casino or bingo: the same verified identity covers every product, and so do the deposit limits and other safer-gambling settings you choose. Taking two minutes during sign-up to set a deposit limit, while you are calm and clear-headed, is one of the most useful things you can do for future sessions.
